Reflection: Ranking, Link Building & Google Analytics

When it comes to making a website there are certain aspects to consider. Some of those are Rankings, Link building, and google analytics. In regards to Rankings, you want to see how your website ranks with other website when it comes to these qualifications. We went to a website in class this week and we were graded on the given criteria. I had a score of about 56 which is about average. Another way to rank would be to be at the top of the list in google when someone searches your website. Link building is important because it gives people many different avenues that they can reach your website. And google analytics can help track data about exactly how people are getting to your site and other important information that is detailed to help improve your website.

Reflection: Social Media for SEO & Social Networking

This week we discussed more social media and marketing. There are many aspects that go into social media and trying to increase traffic to the website. You can use social media to make posts that relate to your website and perk more interest for people to want to know more about what the business has to offer. It is also easy to send invites for people to look at the website through social media because it can be as simple as sending an invite for someone to like the page that sends them to the website.
Using many different platforms of social media can increase the chances of people visiting your website.  There are also different types of people depending on the platform.  Facebook tends to nowadays have older people on it. Pinterest has more women. And instagram has more of the younger generation. Depending on who your audience is, you should target those platforms for marketing.

Reflection: Landing Page Optimization & Basic SEO

When it comes to the landing page. I think it's important to have the google ad and the landing page to be similar. I feel like it would make people understand that the website they clicked on sent them to the correct site if I had the same picture from my ad on my landing page. It's important to have pictures and information from your ad to also be on the landing page.
There are also a few important ways to have successful SEO on your website. Some of them are to Make the page title the same as the advertisement.  Make the images the same from the ad to the website.  Make your keywords arranged uniquely in the advertisement.  Have the most important keywords in the first amount of text rather being the last text of the advertisement.  Don’t over-do the keywords in the body of the text.

Reflection: ROI & Optimizing Ad Performance

There are several areas that can show how well an ad is doing. One of the areas is clicks. If an ad has more clicks, it shows that it grabs attention well enough for people to actually click on the ad after they see it. Impressions is another category. This one shows how many people have seen your ad on google. The more impressions, the more chances of people being able to click your ad goes up. The impressions part is almost all directly related to your keywords. If you have keyword that no one ever searches, then no one is going to see your ad and be "impressed" by it.
These numbers can go up and down depending upon how to change the ad, or what keywords you decide to change. There are other metrics like conversions that also show how many people bought something or signed up from the ad. Those are the best numbers to raise.

Reflection: Relevence and Quality score

This week looked at what can make an ad better and worse deepening on the quality score and the relevance it has. Some of the ways that can increase the quality score on the ad is to make sure that you use the same key words tied to the ad in the header or on the body of the advertisement itself. That way it is easier to find on google. Some other aspects that make it of good quality is to make sure that your ad and keywords are relevant to your business or product. For example, my business is to have someone remind and coach you through any bad habits that might be holding you back. I wouldn't want to have a keyword to just be "help" or "addiction". I would want to make sure that it is specific and also general enough to have people visit my site where it actually applies to them. Some keywords that I like are "Addiction Recovery" there are a lot of people that struggle with that and it specifically relates to my business which makes it more relevant.

Reflection: ad words

This week in the the online business class, we learned more about ad words. We created our own ads and and preparing to make successful campaigns with them. We made sure that we made a good description for the ad to try and grab attention. We also had the chance to find a few pictures that would grasp the attention. It was neat to see it all come together to look official like the actual ad on google that we all are accustomed to see. We learned that it's also smart to make the ads have a discount applied to them. For example "click here now to receive 50% off your next purchase!" That makes people want to click on the ad more because they feel like they could save money by purchasing your product. It's also important to make sure that the images you pick are of people's faces. Ads tend to do better when they have a person's face on them.

reflection: google ads and keywords

This week we learned more about key words and how to start a campaign using google ad words. I learned that the keywords we choose are much more important than I previously thought. I used to think that that almost any word could work well. But there has to be a balance when it comes to picking key words. You don't want it to be too generic that someone searching the key word doesn't have anything in common with your business. And you don't want it so specific that no one would ever search up the keyword. Otherwise no one would be able to find your business on google ad words. I also don't want to get so many clicks that I wake up with a bill of $100 in a day. But I would like the clicks. I want more quality clicks rather than quantity clicks.

Reflection: Legal Structure

It was important to learn this week the legal structure to revolve the business around. If the business is not registered to be a business legally, then the government can possibly shut the business down until the proper paper work is filled out. I wanted to make sure that my business was either a sole proprietorship  or a Limited Liability Company. The reasons would be because the sole proprietorship was the easiest to create and one of the most common legal structures. The Limited Liability Company would make it so that if your business made a really big mistake and had to pay a substantial amount of money to someone, the money could only be taken out of the business and not from your own personal funds. I would want that kind of security for my business just incase I got sued for anything.

Reflection: Site Design

This week had to think about some useful items to have on a webpage. The main one was a way to use payment. We had think of way that the payment might be important and how it would have to function o the website. We talked about how that there ha to be an option to do refunds. That the information has to be safe and secure for people to put in their information. The button to do payments has to be easy to see. It has to look official. I thought that having to sign a terms and condition for the payment would make people feel safer when they submit the payment. Other characteristics was to make sure that there are home buttons and that the navigation of the website is Smoot and that there is enough info for the customer to see. There should be a contact page, and about page, and any other pages that seem to be needed on the website.

Site Building and Hosting

It was neat to learn more about hosting and site building. I was able to learn about the difference of them. I wanted a site that would host and be able to build a website for me. That is why I chose Wix. I feel like Wix is a really popular platform and easy to use. I just created a website a couple of days ago using it and it worked out very well! The website plan per month was about $20. The woman name was about $22 for the year. I think it was a pretty good deal for that. I'm really glad that I heard about the possible vouchers for credits towards advertisements. I possibly would have never seen that I could get a voucher for a couple $100 towards google ad words.

Reflection 2: Sourcing the Product

This week I learned about sourcing the product. Drop-shipping and using an affiliate were both terms that I had never heard of in my life in regards to business. It was neat to know the different kinds of sourcing that large companies use. for example, Amazon uses an affiliate model. I personally would like to use the drop shipping model if I were to have a business. I feel like it would feel like that I am in more control in the products and the prices. Instead of the affiliate approach where a link just takes them to another business's product and they purchase the product from them and I get a small percentage of that product. I think that using the dropship method would also be much easier to handle returns. Because the sale came from you and all you pretty much did was send an email to someone to sell and ship the product to that person who ordered it.

Reflection: Choosing a Business

I really enjoyed learning about the keywords and their importance in trying to find a word that works better than others. It was interesting to see the competition and the monthly searches for each key word. It makes me think more about the topic and the words that I should use for my own online business. I was thinking of doing a business that is a service related to mental health. It would be a simple subscription business where someone would pay $30 a month to help keep them accountable to their goals. These goals could be to send a constant reminder through text to help them stop the craving of wanting to smoke, wanting to eat sugar, wanting to drink, looking at inappropriate content on the internet, or to help them to work out, etc. I would like to have keywords that relate to those subjects. I would probably also want keywords that relate to religion. Many people with religion have a drive to want to progress in life. It could be to read the scriptures daily, or to have a reminder to do something serviceable for others.
